THE Duchess of Cornwall had an emotional moment after meeting life-saving medical experts with a nose for trouble today.
Camilla took Prince Charles to see three Labradors demonstrate their skills at St James's Palace to mark her decision to become patron of the charity Medical Detection Dogs, one of the world's leading organisations in using the animals to help spot serious illnesses, including cancer, often with a single sniff.
Comedian Bill Bailey, involved in the Men United campaign to raise awareness of prostate cancer, said he had been close to tears and Camilla too had been emotional after watching the animals at work, identifying prostate cancer and kidney tumours from samples.Also at the event was Downton Abbey actress Lesley Nicol, who plays cook Mrs Patmore.
She has been a supporter of the charity, founded in 2008, for a number of years and has a dog named after her character which will be trained to spot medical conditions.
