Kate to Visit Malta on First Solo Foreign Tour

THE Duchess of Cambridge will leave behind husband William and young son Prince George to go on her first solo trip abroad.

Kate, 32, will travel to Malta on September 20 and 21 to represent the Queen as the Mediterranean island celebrates 50 years of independence. Kensington Palace said Prince George will not be going with his mother as she will only be spending one night away from home.

After Kate's solo trip was announced the official British Monarchy Twitter account tweeted: "The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh lived in Malta when they were just married, while The Duke was on naval service." Click link for full post from EXPRESS.

Brooches, usually worn on the left shoulder, were a favourite for the royal and the Queen was believed to have over 100 in her collection.
