Prince Charles and Camilla Host Reception for Injuried Servicemen and Women

TETBURY, UNITED KINGDOM - JULY 22: Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall with Capt Charles Russell at Highgrove on July 22, 2011 in Tetbury, England. Prince Charles, Prince of Wales and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall hosted a lunchtime reception in the grounds of their Gloucestershire home for Servicemen and women who have been wounded in action over the last couple of years. Guests included family and carers of the wounded soldiers, many of the wounded soldiers came from Their Royal Highnesses’ regiments including the Parachute Regiment, The Rifles, The Royal Dragoon Guards, The Mercians and The Gurkhas. Their Royal Highnesses also invited staff who assisted transporting the soldiers back from Theatre, staff from Headley Court, and staff from other support organisations who assist injured service personnel. Brooches, usually worn on the left shoulder, were a favourite for the royal and the Queen was believed to have over 100 in her collection. A selection that would go with an outfit were presented to her - usually three at a time - by her senior dresser and confidante Angela Kelly on special trays that once belonged to Queen Mary. The royal had a wide variety of different brooches which she often wore with her usual pearl earrings and necklace, including a spray of flowers brooch by the people and government of Australia during her Coronation tour of 1954./
