Camilla Launches Cook for the Queen Contest:

THE Duchess of Cornwall donned an apron and got busy with a rolling pin and whisk to cook up a treat for her mother-in-law today.
Camilla, a keen cook,  kickstarted the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations by launching a competition offering every school in Britain the chance to become the first in history to go into the Buckingham Palace kitchens and create a menu for a royal reception attended by the monarch.

In the first jubilee event of the year involving a member of the Royal Family, the 64-year-old Duchess joined pupils at a school in Swindon, Wiltshire, preparing recipes to enter the competition, which was her idea as her own personal tribute to her mother-in-law.

"I just thought it would be a wonderful way of getting children involved," said Camilla, whose signature dish is roast chicken.

The Cook for the Queen competition is open to 10-15 year olds in all primary and secondary schoold in the UK. Children have to create recipies that could be turned into canapes. Details and entry forms are available at
