Kate to Make Two Appearances with the Queen

exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, London Wednesday Feb. 8,
2012. The royal, who has a degree in the history of art, became patron
last month of the National Portrait Gallery, in London, which is staging
the event. Freud, who died last summer, was famed for his naked
full-length portraits that used layers of oils to depict the sitter's
flesh in minute detail - creating unforgiving and often unflattering
images. Photo: Jorge Herrera / AP
Buckingham Palace officials said Monday the duchess will join the
queen and Prince Charles' wife Camilla on March 1 on a visit to a new
restaurant at the luxury department store Fortnum and Mason. The royals
are expected to have tea at the London landmark, known for its
well-stocked food hall, and unveil a plaque commemorating efforts to
renovate the Piccadilly Circus neighborhood.
