Prince Harry will attempt to ski to the South Pole with a group of injured service personnel in the most ambitious expedition ever attempted by a member of the Royal family.
The Prince, 28, will set off in November for a month-long trek across 208 miles of polar terrain, pulling a 70kg (154lbs) sled in temperatures plunging to -45C.
He made the announcement at the official launch of the Walking With The Wounded South Pole challenge, in which the Prince and four British amputees will race to the geographic pole against teams from the US and a combined Canadian and Australian team.
