The Duke of Cambridge enjoyed a break from fatherly duties on Saturday as he attended the wedding of one of his closest friends without his wife or new son.
However, the Prince was joined by his brother, Prince Harry, and Pippa Middleton, his sister-in-law, at the marriage of James Meade, 31, and Lady Laura Marsham, 29, at St Nicholas parish church, in Gayton, Norfolk.
Prince William, 31, was earlier among a 15-strong party of ushers who had gone for lunch at a country pub with the groom, with whom he became friends at Eton.
Mr Meade is part of Prince William’s closest circle of friends and delivered a joint best man’s speech with Thomas van Straubenzee at the Buckingham Palace reception after the royal wedding in 2011.
