Prince William Knights Sir Marcus Setchell, Royal Doctor Who Delivered Prince George
Prince William made Sir Marcus Setchell a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order [PA]
PRINCE William
knighted Sir Marcus Setchell, the royal
doctor who delivered Prince George,
today and updated him on the progress of his "bouncing
baby".
Sir Marcus, who served the
Queen as surgeon-gynaecologist for 24 years before
retiring from the medical
profession at the end of last year, described helping George into the world as a "lovely experience" after William dubbed him on both shoulders with a ceremonial sword to make him a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order at an investiture at Buckingham Palace.
The two chatted animatedly for around a minute afterwards.
"I think there's a code that you never report what's been said to you but he did make some remarks about what a bouncing baby George is now," Sir Marcus, 70, said laughing: "He's got a great future I think."
