Queen Comments on Upcoming Scottish Referendum - Urges Voters to "Think Very Carefully"

THE Queen yesterday urged Scotland to “think very carefully” about how to vote in Thursday’s independence referendum in a stark signal of the monarch’s concern about the knife-edge poll.

Her dramatic intervention came during what could be her last public appearance as Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland before Scots opt to leave the union.

In an unprecedented move after attending church as she does each week during her annual Highlands holiday at Balmoral Castle, she surprised bodyguards by announcing she wanted to speak to members of the public gathered to greet her and have reporters on hand to cover it.

She spoke to Scottish and English wellwishers who said afterwards: “She was lovely and said she hoped everybody would think very carefully about the referendum this week.” Click link for full post from EXPRESS.
