Prince William is said to have asked one of the nation's most senior midwives if she would like to help him and his pregnant wife the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton.
According to several reports, the Duke made the offer to Professor Lesley Page when he presented her with a CBE at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle.
