THE Queen and Duke of Edinburgh were welcomed with a flypast during a visit to the UK's most northerly RAF base on their 67th wedding anniversary today.
Two Typhoons and a Tornado jet blasted over RAF Lossiemouth in Moray, north of Inverness, to mark the tour by the royal couple.
The Queen and Prince Philip – who were married on November 20 1947 – travelled across the country overnight from London to Elgin on the Royal Train.
The royal couple were greeted by parade inside the RAF aircraft hangar, where Her Majesty and Prince Philip took a royal salute and inspected personnel from No 1 Squadron.
The Queen, who wore a lavender wool dress and coat by Karl Ludwig, a matching hat by Angela Kelly and a diamond star brooch, was presented with a bouquet of flowers by eight-year-old Lennon Gallagher.
