It was one of the most-watched events in history, beamed around the world in resplendent photographs and recalled by many as the most glamourous wedding of their generation.Now those who enjoyed the nuptials of the Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales have been offered their first unique glimpse behind the scenes, as a series of never-before-seen photographs have emerged.
A collection of 14 candid photographs, taken during the wedding reception at Buckingham Palace on July 29, 1981, show the Royal family in a series of relaxed, intimate shots taken by the official photographer Lord Lichfield.
