THE Duchess of Cambridge dazzled in Princess Diana's signature tiara when she joined the Queen and senior members of the Royal Family at a glittering diplomatic reception at Buckingham Palace tonight.
The Queen, who inherited it from her grandmother Queen Mary, gave Diana the tiara as a present on her wedding day in 1981 and it became her most famous and most glamorous one.
Heavy and often difficult to wear, the piece, composed of jewels that Mary had in her collection, features swinging pearls hanging from 19 diamond arches capped with lovers' knots bows.
