Kate's Former Neighbors in Bucklebury, Berkshire Not Happy with Gates Erected in Her Honor
Caption: The villagers have called the sculptures 'totem poles'
TWO sculptures erected in the childhood village of the Duchess of Cambridge have sparked fury among local residents who have branded them "totem poles."
The 8 ft tall gate posts, which stand at the entrance to Bucklebury in Berkshire, resemble railway sleepers with carvings of an acorn on the top of each.
The two "ugly" wooden structures have an inscription which says they are to commemorate the marriage of Kate and William, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
But neighbours of the Middletons have criticised the gates, one angry villager called for them to be "ripped down and turned into firewood."
