used a lunch with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today to raise the plight of 40,000 UK steel workers whose jobs are threatened by Tata Steel.William and Kate intervened in the row over the Indian steel firm’s plans to sell or close its plant in Port Talbot, South Wales, threatening thousands of ancillary jobs in the industry.
But it was not clear if they or Mr Modi came up with any practical suggestions as to how the two countries could help resolve the industrial crisis that has proved the elephant
