A WEEKEND of celebrations marking the Queen's 90th birthday has begun with the arrival of members of the Royal Family at a national service of thanksgiving for the monarch's life.

At St Paul's Cathedral, leading figures from the worlds of politics, religion - and hundreds of ordinary people recognised for their service - are gathering to mark the Queen's 90 years.

The Queen arrived ten minutes late and smiled and waved to the crowds, wearing a primrose yellow coat and matching dress and hat by Angela Kelly.

A weekend of celebrations is planned to mark the monarch's milestone and, after Saturday's Trooping the Colour ceremony, a Patron's Lunch street party for 10,000 revellers will be staged in The Mall on Sunday attended by the Queen and senior royals.  Click link for full post from EXPRESS.
