It's not every day that you see the heir to the throne walking through Green Park, even if it is next to his official residence, Clarence House.
But as actors Luke McCall and Adam Robert Lewis discovered while out for a run, Charles, 67, was in the park on an unannounced official engagement today.
He was walking from his London home through the park to go and create a new wildflower meadow in honour of his mother when the two actors, who have just joined the cast of The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre, jogged by chatting and then stopped and looked back after they realised who it was.
Charles, who in 2013 created a wildflower meadow at Highgrove and launched a scheme to create a similar site in every British county to mark the 60th anniversary of the Queen's Coronation, joined a group of soldiers' children from Wellington Barracks to sow the seeds for the Queen's Meadow.
