The Duchess looked the picture of elegance she arrived at The National Football Museum in Manchester in a sold out checked Erdem coat, estimated to have cost £1,600, and a black vintage blouse.
Later William and Kate visited a hospice that Princess Diana opened 25 years ago.
The prince, who rarely talks about his late mother in public, said it was nice it was to have the 'family connection'.
Arriving at Francis House hospice in Didsbury, Greater Manchester, the royal couple passed a large photograph of the prince's late mother on the wall.
