THE DUCHESS of Cambridge has told of her pride that her grandmother was a Second World War codebreaker.
She spoke as she teamed up with husband Prince William and brother-in-law Prince Harry to give support to a mental health awareness campaign.
Writing the foreword for a new GCHQ puzzle book, which supports the campaign,
Kate said: “I have always been immensely proud of my grandmother, Valerie Glassborow, who worked at Bletchley Park during the Second World War.
She and her twin sister, Mary, served with thousands of other young women as part of the great Allied effort to break enemy codes.
Proceeds from the book, which features more than 140 codes, puzzles and challenges created by GCHQ’s expert codebreakers, will go to Heads Together, the campaign spearheaded by William, Kate and Prince Harry to end the stigma around mental illness. Click link for full post from EXPRESS.
