The Queen Celebrates Her Birthday This Week

When is the Queen’s second birthday and why does it have two dates?

Queen Elizabeth II was born April 21 1926 but every year her birthday is officially celebrated in the summer month of June.

This year the celebrations will take place with the annual Trooping the Colour parade on Saturday June 17.

The confusing celebrations of the monarch's birth is a tradition in the Royal family that goes back to the 18th century. The tradition is tied to the fickle weather of the British Isles and gives the monarch the opportunity to celebrate in the summer.  Click link for full post from Express.
