Similar to her previous pregnancies, the Duchess of Cambridge, 35, is suffering from extreme morning sickness called hyperemesis gravidarum.
She is being cared for by a team at Kensington Palace.
The rare condition causes severe vomiting and affects 3.5 in every 1,000 pregnant women.
And it appears the acute morning sickness has stopped any celebrations at Kensington Palace. Prince William said: "We need Catherine to get over this first bit and then we can start celebrating.
