Kensington Palace said in a statement today the couple will get married on May 19 2018.
The statement said: "His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle will marry on Saturday May 19 2018."
The date will give security bosses and travel operators a serious headache as it clashes with next year's FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium.
The Kensington Palace announcement follows earlier confirmation of the month of the wedding its location at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. American actress Meghan is set to appear at church with the Windsors at Sandringham on Christmas Day.
The 36-year-old also made a surprise appearance and the Queen’s Christmas party in Windsor last night, according to sources.
