The royal baby has been named Prince Louis
Kensington Palace confirmed the news at 11am today saying: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son Louis Arthur Charles."
Although Kate and William will call their third child Louis Arthur Charles, he will actually be known as "His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge".
The palace added: "The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge." Prince William sought approval of the name Prince Louis from his grandmother, the Queen, it is believed.
The names honour both the prince's grandfather, Prince Charles and Louis Mountbatten, the Duke of Edinburgh's uncle, who was killed by an IRA bomb in 1979. Prince Louis is the fifth in line to the throne. Read more from EXPRESS.
