PRINCESS Eugenie will marry Jack Brooksbank in the second royal wedding of the year on October 12, 2018.
However why will her husband not take a royal title when they marry?
However unlike Meghan who adopted the Duchess title when she married Prince Harry back in May and became the Duchess of Sussex, Mr Brooksbank will not get a title from the Queen.
Royal titles are limited to the children of the sovereign, the grandchildren of the sovereign in the male line and to the children of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales.
Jess Ilse, editorial assistant at Royal central, told Express.co.uk: “Prince Harry is in the direct line to the throne despite being sixth in line now, he’s a full-time working royal, and he carries out engagements on behalf of the Queen, so he was granted a new title and it was given to Meghan as well.”
As Princess Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice are not working royals, the offer of a title would not be extended to their future spouses.
She is also not close to the line of succession to the throne, unlike Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Charles who were allowed to grant their wives royal titles.
This also means she does not need an official letter from the Queen granting her permission to get married. Read more from EXPRESS.
