The Duchess of Cambridge has revealed her self-doubts after calling for more support for teachers and children in a battle against Britain's 'social problems' during a mental health conference.

Addressing the conference in London earlier today, the Duchess said she had been 'very naive' when she first became a parent.

She made the remark during a round table discussion at the Mental Health in Education conference hosted by The Royal Foundation, at Mercers' Hall, East London.

She said: 'I was very naive myself as a parent, of really just how important particularly the early years are for children's futures. '

And how critical it is, everyone looking after children at a critical time, teachers, parents, and everyone who's caring for them, how important it is that we get it right.'
