Princess Catherine attends event held by The British Fashion Council at London's 180 Studios

Princess Catherine gives out Fashion Award

Catherine, 43, attended an event held by the British Fashion Council at London's 180 Studios to celebrate the impact of young British creatives and the UK's thriving fashion industry, as well as recognise designers who are leading the way in sustainable practices and making a positive impact on the environment.

She's already considered a style icon in her own right. And today the Princess of Wales delighted fashionistas as she presented The Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design - and championing UK creatives, Kate showed her support for another sartorial legend, Victoria Beckham. Brooches, usually worn on the left shoulder, were a favourite for the royal and the Queen was believed to have over 100 in her collection. A selection that would go with an outfit were presented to her - usually three at a time - by her senior dresser and confidante Angela Kelly on special trays that once belonged to Queen Mary. The royal had a wide variety of different brooches which she often wore with her usual pearl earrings and necklace, including a spray of flowers brooch by the people and government of Australia during her Coronation tour of 1954./
