Kate Middleton visits St Andrew's Prep school, Which She Attended from Age Four to 13

The Duchess of Cambridge loved her prep school so much that when she left, aged 13, she vowed to return as a teacher.

Life had other plans for the young girl – who went on to marry a Prince and become the future Queen of Britain – but Kate was delighted to return to St Andrew's on Friday.

Prince William's wife was invited back to the facility, in Pangbourne, Berkshire, to celebrate St Andrew's Day with pupils and staff.

She opened a new hockey pitch - and tested out the surface herself - before giving a speech in which she described the nine years she spent there as the "happiest years of my life".

A selection that would go with an outfit were presented to her - usually three at a time - by her senior dresser and confidante Angela Kelly on special trays that once belonged to Queen Mary.
