The Queen Visits Headley Court Recovery Centre in Surrey

The last time Guardsman Dave Watson met the Queen, he was on duty at Balmoral and had the honour of a brief dance with the monarch.
The Queen is a lifelong fan of country dancing, and hosts dances known as Gillies’ Balls for neighbours, estate workers and members of the local community when she is staying at her Scottish residence.
Since then, the 26-year-old’s life has changed almost beyond recognition.
He lost both lower legs and his right forearm to a Taliban bomb in Afghanistan and has been medically discharged from the Army.
But when the Queen met him again at the Headley Court recovery centre in Surrey today, one thing that was unchanged was his spirit. He joked that when his limbs were blown off in 2010 his first thought was that he had lost several prized tattoos.
