The Queen Pays a Visit to New BBC Headquarters
The Queen made a moment of
TV
magic on Friday when she appeared behind two newsreaders while they were live on air. The monarch was taking a tour of the news channel studio at the BBC's new central London headquarters, and could be clearly seen in the background during a broadcast, to the great delight of viewers and staff.
Workers broke into a round of applause as she appeared in shot, causing newsreaders Julian Worricker and Sophie Long to turn around in surprise.
The Queen had smiled broadly as she arrived to open the revamped Broadcasting
House
, despite the fact that her husband Prince Philip was lying in a hospital bed less than half a mile away.
