THE Queen may have to move out of Buckingham Palace to allow up to £150million of repairs to her crumbling official residence.

Aides have drawn up plans for the 89-year-old monarch to vacate the London landmark for 12 months as one of a range of options to deal with a backlog of urgent repairs.

She and Prince Philip, 94, would instead be likely to base themselves at their favourite home, Windsor Castlehosting more official engagements there or at other royal residences in the capital.

Vacating the Palace, a huge complex with 775 rooms, including 19 State rooms, 52 royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms, would cause more upheaval to the Royal Household than to the Queen herself. Click link for full post from EXPRESS.
