Caption: Royal Baby name: The favourite royal baby names are Alice and Mary. Kate and William are expecting the newest arrival of the Cambridge family in April, as she enters the final weeks of her pregnancy.
Speculation is rife over the gender of the fifth-in-line to the throne and what the baby will be called and there is a new favourite which would honour a certain duke.
Here are the latest odds on the royal baby name and gender. Philip is proving to be a popular name for the third royal baby, according to Ladbrokes.
Alice and Mary are still the joint 5/1 favourite to be the name of choice, however the odds for Philip have been cut from 25/1 to 16/1 so is currently the most popular name if Prince George and Princess Charlotte welcome a little brother into their family soon.
Mary is one of the Queen’s middle names, and it was also her grandmother’s name - Queen Mary - who was married to George V.
Victoria is another favourite if Kate welcomes a girl or there are odds of 12/1 on offer if Albert and Arthur are the names of choice.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “With Her Majesty being honoured with one of Charlotte’s middle names, it would be a lovely touch if Philip was to be Kate and Wills’ choice for their second son.” Click link for full post from EXPRESS.
