The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shield their children from public life on the strict recommendation of the world's most famous woman: their grandmother the Queen.
According to Princess Diana’s former bodyguard, Ken Wharfe, the Queen "doesn’t like too much, too soon: and has encouraged Kate and William to let their youngsters enjoy their childhood away from publicity for as long as possible.
This is particularly relevant when it comes to five-year-old George, he said, who is set to be the future king of England.
Mr Wharfe said: “George will know exactly who he is. “And William and Kate will want to make sure that his moment of entering royal glory is kept away as long as possible.”
Despite being the eldest, George is the shiest, often averting his eyes from cameras to the floor and refusing to wave to onlookers.
