Duchess Kate Dazzles at State Dinner for King and Queen of the Netherlands

The Duchess of Cambridge glittered in a diamond tiara that once belonged to Princess Diana as she arrived for a state banquet at Buckingham Palace tonight. Kate, 36, joined husband Prince William, 36, and other senior royals for the lavish dinner hosted in honour of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands.

The Queen, 92, used the opportunity to speak publicly about Brexit for the first time, saying in a speech that 'as we look toward a new partnership with Europe' the values shared by the UK and the Netherlands 'are our greatest assets'.

It came after King Willem-Alexander, 52, said he was 'truly saddened' by Brexit in an address to parliamentarians at Westminster today.

The Dutch royals kicked off their two-day state visit - the first by a sitting Dutch monarch in 40 years - with a ceremonial welcome on Horse Guards Parade this morning before carrying out engagements at the Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey and Clarence House.
