The royal and Prince William were visiting the home of Leicester City to pay their respects to the five people who died in a helicopter crash last month, including the football club's owner.
Speaking to volunteers who had been invited to the club in recognition of their work to relocate flowers and other tributes to a dedicated site, she was asked how Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were doing.! Kate, who was wearing a grey Catherine Walker coat dress she was first spotted in at Balmoral in August, told one well-wisher: 'They are great, thank you.'
Season ticket holder Fiona Sturgess said: 'Kate said that William was playing football with the children last night and one of them said, I think it was George, 'Are you playing football tomorrow, Pops?'
During today's engagement Kate again showcased some of the tweaks she's made to her wardrobe since returning from maternity leave, for a more regal look befitting a Queen in waiting.
For today's visit, the Duchess wore a recycled Catherine Walker coat dress, previously seen when she joined the Queen for Sunday service at Balmoral in August this year.
Although she's always been known for thriftiness, Kate's upped the ante since returning to royal duties in early October, re-wearing old outfits on nine out of 14 engagements.
